1959 Jaguar XK150 S Fixed Head Coupé

1 of just 115 examples of a Home Market Right Hand Drive XK150 3.8 S. With 265bhp, triple carbs and a 9:1 compression ratio, the 3.8 S was the ultimate XK150 before the arrival of the E-type in 1961.

This example is, in my opinion, the perfect combination. Mechanically sorted and yet incredibly original. Guy Broad has been over the car and he is confident that it has never had a panel changed, something which is almost impossible to find, especially with a RHD example.

Delivered new to London, in British Racing Green with Suede Green interior, the same specification it wears today. In 1966, the car was taken to New Zealand and in 1979 was bought by the previous owners Father who enjoyed the car until 2013 when he sadly passed away. His son, who lived in the USA shipped the car over there and carried on the family ownership. The current owner, a keen Jaguar collector, recognising the rarity of the car, bought it and shipped it back to the UK. Upon arrival the car went to Guy Broad to be gone through. £20,000 GBP later and the top end has been rebuilt and everything that needed any attention mechanically was done. Having driven it back from Guy Broad’s on a wonderful hot sunny day, I can confirm the car drives beautifully and still lives up to the XK150’s reputation of being a fabulously long legged tourer.

The history file is wonderful, featuring the original buff log book, invoices going back to the 1978 as well as the complete original book pack including the service book (complete with RAC Running In banner!), hand books, lubrication charts and service directory.
